You made the right choice — your new ERP system go-live, it’s finally running. Well, it’s a sigh of relief for you and your entire team.

But wait…

Even you close this project stating as “done” and move on to something next. The work is not over yet.

Your ERP system is like a baby plant that needs to be nurtured and taken care of from time to time. The initial week after the solution goes live in your system, it is critical for you to stay alert with any issues uprising.

Let’s dive in to understand the hyper care process. Hence, things you should expect.

  • Data migration: first call
  • Special cases
  • Helping the new users — priority
  • Avoid the Valley of Despair

Data migration issues — the first call

People are amazed after the week of ERP go-live. If you did the testing thoroughly and gave plenty of time and CRPs, then the transactions should be flowing smoothly in your system without any glitch. The very first thing you might encounter is data migration errors. The reason for the new arising issue is because the business users earlier have only interacted with the old, migrated data, hence any issue that existed in the past data could show errors in the new system also. Therefore, it is very much important to clean these small data migration errors first, in order to cut all the roadblocks from the workflow.

Special cases

It is very time taking and hectic to test every possible case prior to go-live for a large-sized company. The second call to declutter the issues — outliers, one of the scenarios you didn’t have time to test. As users start adding new data like transactions records & new master, these corner cases are very obvious. The intersection of data and business processes can create unexpected surprises. If such cases are handled by the project management team, then these outliers can be minimized.

Helping new users

You have done the migration process and discovered some problems and also taken care of the corner cases. One thing to look out for our users’ errors. These issues are the most vital because if they are not dealt with properly can hamper the whole organization, user errors can vandalize the complete system. For example, an employee from trading might just miss out to associate the cost of a new product. The warehouse then will receive the product at zero cost, and now the fixation needs a lot of time and effort, as the complete product line is intersected to one another, it's very hectic from an organizations point of view. The only solution for such kind of uncertainty is the speed of resolution. If errors are rising then the resolutions need to sort accordingly. Your project handling team in coordination with your organization's abilities should work on cleaning out these errors and reinforcing the best industry-based practices along with proper guidance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Partners.

Avoid the “Valley of Despair”

The Valley of Despair arises when your ERP’s performance bounces back dramatically, just after going live. This kind of sudden shock creates frustration among the users, and just wonder if the project was so much worth it. Guiding the users around this metaphorical valley of despair is why your project management team in coordination with Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC Partner should stick around a little longer even after the ERP is live.

These certain steps will help and guide you to get hold of the success and create a smooth workflow system. The only implementation of the component in your system is not complete. Certain baby steps will help you grow with full consistency.

Hope it helps you and your team.
